Ocean Creatures in Alaskan Waters and Shores

Alaska is known for its abundant ocean and native sea life. Visits to Alaska frequently include boat trips to fish or see marine life. Some marine life is plentiful on the shores, such as seals and sea lions. I know there are many (many!) fishing opportunities in Alaska, and I will include them in a different checklist.

These are the marine creatures that I am most looking forward to seeing and that I believe are more likely to be seen (I expect to see Alaskan King Crab, but likely not in its natural habitat, i.e., on my plate in a restaurant).

I have never lived closer to the ocean than a 2-3-hour drive away. I am not familiar with tide pools and sea creatures that live near the coast. Let me know if there are any coastal/marine creatures that I have missed!
